Our Eating Restrictions and Dietary Preferences

All families these days have dietary preferences of some sort or another. Either to personal tastes, food allergies, food intolerances, budget, knowledge of cooking, etc.
 
Our eating restrictions are basic, but not really. How's that for an explanation?
 
We do not eat the following:
  • Gluten
  • Most grains
  • Lactose from cows
  • Refined sugars
  • Processed foods with more than 5 ingredients
  • Anything that we can't pronounce(usually on an ingredient list)
 
 
It seems like a lot, but really...it leaves us with whole foods, limited processed foods, and snacks, and just makes life simpler for me, the cook. ;)
 
I used to be overwhelmed and depressed about this short list. Until the Lord G-d helped me to be creative and look at it as a challenge. It doesn't take a lot to make a meal from basic ingredients, and make it taste yummy, and be filling. You just have to have a few deep breaths, and a few Please Lord help me, moments. Heheheee...
