You Who Held Fast And Remained Righteous

Deuteronomy 4:1-4
“Now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I am teaching you to perform, so that you may live and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you. 2 You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. 3 Your eyes have seen what the Lord has done in the case of Baal-peor, for all the men who followed Baal-peor, the Lord your God has destroyed them from among you. 4 But you who held fast to the Lord your God are alive today, every one of you.

Matthew 5:17-20
17 Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Lately, I've been made aware of something about my own faith, that I'm still trying to work out with G-D. I've grown up in the church in some form or fashion since I was a baby. Everything we did as a church family, I didn't question as much as I should have, I suppose.
The last few years, Yahweh has been leading me through a path of questioning certain beliefs and traditions of the church. I have found that many of them, are man made traditions, of which He has not made a commandment for, OR He has, and it's been ignored. I fear it's been ignored at our peril. But again...I'm still working this out, praying for His love and discernment throughout this process.

I've been a passionate believer in Christmas. NOT the commercialized one, but the Christian one, or so I believed it to be. Let me ask you this...is Christmas in the Bible? Does Adoni lay down guidelines in how it's to be celebrated? When and where did the tradition of Christmas begin?  What biblical laws are broken in it's celebration and participations?

These are all heavy questions, which I've had to answer myself...

I'm still answering them...and this just scratched the surface of what I've been learning lately...

May Yahweh our Lord be with you.
